The Hybrids - Chapter IIIOld Friends, New Friends
I woke up on another sunny morning, weirdly still feeling like it had all been a dream. Just to be sure I once again checked over my body under the blanket only to find my non-human lower body. A lot more confident than the day before, I got out of bed and went through to the lounge, expecting Roy to already be up playing with his toys. He wasn’t there. I went to check his room and found him still asleep in his bed with his little tail curled around him. I quietly closed the door and went to the bathroom to go for a shower. It was weird to see that I still wasn’t fully used to my new body, as my tail constantly hit the shower wall. Washing the furry parts of my body with soap put a childish smile on my face. After I’d gotten out and dried myself my fur was all tousled, which was even funnier.
I hung up my towel and went back through to the living room and back to Roy’s room door. I slowly opened it and walked up to his bed where h
Before The Great UnionWhat an amazing day this was supposed to be. It was the release day of Warrior’s Quest, featuring the latest technology in virtual reality gaming. It was advertised to be so advanced, you’d think you were the protagonist, making you able to feel, smell, hear and taste in an almost perfectly realistic way.
I’d been waiting for weeks, looking forward to playing it the day it came out and since my parents had enough money to have a Porsche and Ferrari in the garage, I also didn’t have to save up like most other people.
Anyway, it was the early afternoon and my dad and I carried the huge package into my big room. I had already reserved a corner on the opposite side from my bed for the big gaming console. I put everything together and connected it to my computer, having already made an account online. What I was also really excited about was the extremely exclusive DLC my dad had bought me on top of the game itself. It was called Wolven Fighter and while without it y
Eyes In The Sky - Chapter VCallum changed into his beast form and I started lifting the unconscious Jake onto the centaurs horseback, not knowing where the strength to do so came from. I didn’t continue to think about it since it wasn’t of any importance at the moment, ticking it off as a result of adrenaline.
We rushed through the academy until we arrived at the infirmary located at the western end of the main building were we ran into someone familiar straight away. It was Valerie, the nurse that helped me throughout my entire academy life every time something was wrong with me.
I started to go on and on to her, “Valerie, thank god you’re here. Jake is badly hurt. You have to help him otherwise he...”
I couldn’t even finish my sentence before she stopped me from talking my head off. “Leroy, Leroy! Calm down... breathe... and tell me what happened.”
“I came back to the room and found Jake lying on the floor, unconscious. I don’t know what happened.
Eyes In The Sky - MemeI started to regain consciousness. Just as I was trying to figure out where I was, a leather bag was lifted off of my head. An immensely bright light shone right into my face. After a few seconds my eyes got used to it and I could make out a one way mirror, one you see in interrogation rooms on TV. I felt like someone was watching me from behind it and I didn't like it.
"What the heck is going on?" I asked not really expecting an answer.
All of a sudden a voice was audible.
"What is your name, anima?"
"My name... is Leroy Berg. What's going on?"
"Ok Leroy, I have a few questions for you. If you want to get out of here anytime soon I'd recommend you just cooperate. What is your beast form?"
"Ok... ehm... my beast form is a male eagle harpy. I'm just mentioning the gender because most people think that harpies can only be female and that can be quite insulting at times."
"Ok... and what can your beast form do?"
"Well I can fly and see as well as an eagle can. My beas
Eyes In The Sky - Chapter IVWe entered the massive hall and headed straight for the bar to get ourselves some drinks. The music was at a decent volume but still quiet enough to understand what the person next to you was saying. The dance floor, located in the middle of the room, was packed with people. It was really amazing to see just how many senior students the academy had. Jake and I were the ones who preferred to rather watch the action over being part of it. We got ourselves a beer found a table to sit down. A few minutes later we saw some familiar faces approaching our table. It was our friend Boris, a bipedal dragon. With him was a beautiful girl with blond hair stumbling over in her high heels.
"Hey guys! How's it going?" Boris asked.
The two of us looked at each other and smiled.
"Pretty damn good, I'd say." I answered.
"Well, may I introduce you guys to my good friend Tara? This is Leroy and Jake, two of my good friends from last year. Tara, interestingly for you Leroy, is a harpy." Boris said.
Eyes In The Sky - Chapter IIII looked out of the window seeing the sun rise from behind the horizon, filling the sky in a bright yellow light in a split second. I was surprised to catch a glimpse of the sunrise on a Saturday since this was usually a day to sleep into. With Jake once again still snoring in deep sleep I went for a shower, the bathroom filled with sunshine. After that I decided to take a nice morning flight while the academy was still quiet. Once again I opened the big window next to my bed and stepped on the ledge with my bare human feet which after a mere second had changed into my monstrous eagle talons. I took off and flew up into the morning sky. My eyes caught the amazing scenery of the valley the academy was build in, some saying it was in favour of the government to have a better look and better control over us. Not that I really cared about that topic. I wasn't paranoid but I still didn't like the government at all already for the simple reason that them calling us beastlings was a disgrace.
